I imagined a field of particles (controlled with spacebar) that when interrupted by a vehicle (controlled by the mouse) turns the particles into flowers (mauer roses).
Here is the final sketch.
I went through a process where I broke down my code into steps. I worked on the field of particles, then on the Vehicle and lastly on the interaction between the two and creation of the roses.
05 – Final (hit spacebar to change the field of particles)
Week 5 // Temporary Expert
Following are the slides from my Mid-Term Presentation. Use Left and Right Arrow keys to navigate through the slides.
For last week’s homework, I decided to make my map look less like a map. I wanted to explore maps’ visual impact when they lose their traditional information. I am particularly interested in an aesthetic that mixes bold colors and patterns. I added a tiled image of Vincent Van Gogh’s self portrait as my map’s background What was interesting to me in the process of making this map was that every frame and zoom level had a different visual language.
The flow-field and vehicles both respond to mouseX. I structured the particles to be lines on one half of the window and spheres on the other.
